At 17:19 on July 30th, 2019 Adams County Fire Rescue Engine 12 (C-Shift) was dispatched to a citizen assist for a dog in the water in the 2300 block of W. 64th Ave. RP advised that his German short hair dog took off after geese. Engine 12 arrived to a dog in the middle of the lake with owners trying to summon him. After multiple attempts Engine 12 was unable to get the dog to shore and requested  the assistance of Truck 12, Boat 12 and Adams County Animal Control. Owners stated the dog had been treading water for over an hour before they called for help. The remainder of Company 12 arrived and deployed Boat 12. Approximately 10 minutes after deploying the boat the dog was rescued into the boat and brought to the shore from the Engine 12 crew. The dog was happily reunited with his family.
