Castle Pines Vehicle Into House
At 16:21 on November 19th, 2019 South Metro Fire Rescue were dispatched to a call for a car crash into a home in the 7200 block of Middleham Pl. in Castle Pines. When Engine 36’s crew arrived on scene, they found a car had gone off a roadway approximately 1,000 feet away, drove across a golf course behind the home, went through the house’s back fence and continued to crash into the back of the home. The homeowner was home at the time and was sitting on the couch with her dogs just feet away from where the car crashed into a living room space. Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene as well and found the driver was passed out in the driver’s seat after the car went into the house. SMFR firefighters got the driver out of the car and transported that person to the hospital. Luckily, the homeowner and dogs were not injured in the incident. Rescue 34 responded to the scene to remove the car from the house and stabilize the structure. After the car was towed off the property, firefighters worked into the evening using lumber to stabilize the portion of the house impacted by the crash. They also put up a tarp to protect the house from the outside conditions. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
