Centennial Attic Fire
South Metro Attic Fire
At 19:56 on August 19th, 2019 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 6245 S. Humboldt Pl. in Centennial after 911 callers reported active flames in the attic. First arriving Battalion 2 sized up a small, 2-story, single family home with light smoke showing from the gable vents. BC2 positioned across the street on the alpha side and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 14 advanced a 1 ¾” line to the 2nd floor for fire control and primary search, assisted by Ladder 12 on pre-control overhaul. Medic 12 pulled a backup 1 ¾” to the front door and Engine 15 established a water supply from Caley Ave. and Humboldt Pl. Safety 18 was assigned as Incident Safety Officer and Battalion 3 went interior to the 2nd floor to coordinate fire control. Engine 11 and Engine 38 were placed on deck with Medic 15 assigned to EMS. All searches proved negative, the attic fire was quickly located and extinguished. No injuries occurred and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
