Centennial Residential Fire
At 06:42 on Friday July 26, 2019 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a confirmed residential structure fire in the 6300 block of S. High St. in Centennial. The RP reported flames in the basement and a burn victim. First arriving Battalion Chief 2 reported a small, single story, single family dwelling with smoke showing and a working fire. Battalion 2 positioned in the driveway of the District 1 and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 14 advanced a 1.75” pre-connect to the Bravo/Charlie corner for transitional attack through a window well. Ladder 12 positioned on the alpha side and split the crew for primary search and outside truck functions. Medic 12 was immediately faced with a severely injured patient and transported them emergent. 2 other occupants of the home needed medical evaluation and 2 additional medic units were ordered. Engine 15 laid in and established a water supply to Engine 14, who quickly knocked the fire and went interior through the Charlie side. Safety 18 was assigned as the incident safety officer, Battalion 3 assisted command and Med 1 coordinated EMS. Engine 15 advanced a backup 1.75” through the alpha side, all searches proved negative and no extension was found. Paramedics evaluated and released the 2 other occupants and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue.
