Edgewater Gray Street Garage Fire
West Metro Garage Fire
At 23:20 on November 7th, 2019 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 2200 block of Gray St. in Edgewater with auto-aid from Arvada Fire Protection District. Dispatch advised that 911 caller reported smoke showing and possible party trapped, and with Edgewater Police officers on scene reporting heavy smoke and making entry. Engine 1 arrived to a single-story single-family residential with smoke showing from the roof, pulled 1 3/4 line for fire attack to the Alpha side with Medic 1 & Medic 11 in the offensive strategy. Tower 2 arrived and split crews for primary search and utilities, then went to the roof. Engine 16 established the water supply from W. 22nd Ave. and Gray St. and then pulled a 2nd line to the Alpha side. District 1 arrived and assumed command with a possible attic fire from the garage, and assigned Tower 2 to vertical ventilation above the garage. Engine 2 assisted crews with interior fire attack, and SAM 1 advised that flames from the attic coming from the vent on the roof above the garage. Truck 54 opened up the gable vents on the Delta side, and Medic 16 arrived and assigned as medical group. All searches proved negative, and the fire was quickly located and extinguished within 30 minutes. No injuries occurred and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
