Pueblo I-25 Brush Fire

In the afternoon on July 20th, 2019 a large brush fire was reported close to I-25 at mile marker 116 by the El Paso County / Pueblo County line. Mandatory evacuations were sent out to the Rancho Colorado and the Bocha Chica Heights area. The wind shifts pushed the fire towards the Villa Conceits, and air support was also called. Crews worked the fire until the evening with hot spots and units cleared the scene at 19:40. The fire was reported to burn up to 10 acres and the cause is under investigation.
