Red & Blue BBQ Cook-Off

North Metro Fire Rescue District and Northglenn Police Department hosted the 2nd Annual Red and Blue BBQ Cook-Off on June 1st, 2019 at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park in Northglenn, a 25-team BBQ competition and community event to raise money for fallen and injured first responders. Crowds braved a thunderstorm that passed briefly over the area. BBQ samples were available for sale, and fire and police departments from around the metro area competed in several different categories including ribs, chicken, and brisket. The police and firefighters competed in a whole BBQ hog competition in which the firefighters won this year’s event. All proceeds from ticket sales and overall profits from the event go directly to two non-profits, Colorado Professional Firefighters Foundation and the Colorado Concerns of Police Survivors.
