South Metro Garage Fire

At 17:17 on February 22nd, 2019 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a residential garage fire in the 5200 block of South Geneva Way in unincorporated Arapahoe County. MetCom reporting 911 caller reported fire in the garage and safely evacuated. Engine 31 arrived to a 2-story single family structure with nothing showing, observed soot stained garage door and advanced a hose line for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Safety 35 arrived and assume command with a working fire. Tower 32 arrived and split crews for search and truck ops. Engine 42 secured a water supply to Engine 31, Tower 35 assisted with primary search and Medic 42 as medical. Crews got the fire quickly extinguished and under control, and crews prevented the fire from extending into the living space of the home. All searches of the structure were clear and crews started overhaul. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
