Trooper Dan Groves Memorial

A Celebration of Life Memorial Ceremony for Corporal Dan Groves of the Colorado State Patrol was held on March 21st, 2019 at the LifeBridge Church in Longmont. Groves died on March 13th, 2019 when he was struck by a vehicle that lost control in a blizzard on I-76 near mile marker 47 in Weld County, he was was outside of his patrol unit helping a stranded driver. Groves was transported to the hospital, declared deceased a short while after arrival. Thousands came out to honor him with a large procession on Hwy. 66 that included law enforcement, fire departments and medical responders from all over the state, region and nation, which also included CDOT and towing & recovery companies.
