
West Metro Iris Court Fire
Lakewood House Fire
At 19:04 on June 29th 2019 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a confirmed structure fire in the 3400 block of S. Iris Court in Lakewood. Rescue 10 arrived to smoke showing from a small single story family structure with fire on the Charlie side, and started fast attack with life safety as priority in the offensive strategy. Engine 12 arrived and secured a water supply to Rescue 10, and Engine 8 pulled a back-up line to the Alpha side front door and secured the utilities. District 2 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side, and assigned SAM 2 as safety. Tower 8 started primary search, and rescued a family pet inside. Medic 12 assigned to ladder the Charlie side gable to check for extension in the attic, and then assigned as medical group. Crews found fire on the back porch with no extension into the attic space. The fire was put under control at 19:24. Medic 4 treated one patient on scene with unknown injuries. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
