Westminster House Fire

At approximately 20:30 on November 12th, 2019 Westminster Fire Department with auto-aid from Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in the 7500 block of N. Bryant St. Engine 1 arrived to find a garage fully involved in the back of the residents, and possibly two detached buildings also involved and began fire attack in the offensive strategy. Engine 2 arrived and pulled a 2 1/2 line with fire attack on the Charlie-Delta side of the garage, and Truck 2 pulled a 1 3/4 line off Engine 1 to the Bravo-Charlie corner for fire attack. Crews cut a fence for access to the fire in the backyard. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed the command, and assigned Engine 11 to the Charlie side to pulled the soffit on the structure with Engine 1. An additional 1 3/4  line was pulled off Engine 2 but not charged. Engine 3 and Engine 4 staged on Skyline Dr. Firefighters got the fire knocked without spreading to any of the other structures, and crews started an extended overhaul. Investigators found that a child was playing with matches and candles inside the garage area, which started when the fire ignited unknown combustible materials. No reported injuries.
