Westminster Garage Fire

At approximately 21:00 on December 29th, 2019 Westminster Fire Department with auto-aid from Adams County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire in the area in the 7200 block of Winona Court. Engine 1 was first on scene to a fully involved garage threatening other homes. Engine 1 established their own water supply and pulled a 1 ¾ line for fire operations in the defensive strategy for the garage and keeping the fire from spreading to the home. Battalion 1 arrived on scene, assumed Winona command, and assigned Engine 2 to pull a second line off Engine 1. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage. Several crews remained on scene checking for fire extension and putting out hotspots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
