South Metro House Fire

On July 4th, 2020 at 00:45 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported a house on fire in the 21100 block of E. Whitaker Dr. in Arapahoe County. Sheriff Deputies were first to arrive, they woke up the residents who safely evacuated. SMFR arrived a short time later and extinguished a fire burning up the side of the home before it could extend inside. No injuries occurred and investigators determined that improperly disposed fireworks caused the fire. Additional information was provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
