Arvada Fire Protection District held their Annual Promotion and Awards Ceremony “Celebrating 20 Years” on January 27th, 2020 at the Grace Church of Arvada, 6969 Sheridan Blvd. The ceremony featured the Arvada Fire Honor Guard, Pipe and Drum Band, a Bell Ceremony, swearing in of 6 new firefighters, recognition of new hires in administration, a promotion ceremony and the year of 2019 awards: Years of Service, Phoenix Awards, Citizen Awards, Group Awards, Individual Awards, Unit Awards, Employee of the Year, Firefighter of the Year, Lt. Jim Schaefer Award, and the awarded scholarship. A brief reception was held an hour before. Several individual, group, and unit awards were presented at the event.
