Aurora Restaurant Fire

Around 11:36 on December 30th, 2020 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a possible working fire at the Burger King, 12119 E. Mississippi Ave. Engine 2 arrived on scene to a one-story working structure fire with smoke from the roof, secured their own water supply and started fire attack. Crews found fire in the hood system, and Rescue 2 assisted with fire attack and Ladder 2 started primary search. Engine 8 assisted with water supply and pulled a back-up line from Engine 2 to the Alpha side. Battalion Chief 2 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Engine 5 to pull an additional line to the Charlie side. Ladder 5 arrived and laddered the roof and found active fire from inside the vent, and Engine 5 pulled a hose line to the roof. Engine 1 arrived and staged as medical with Medic 107. Crews got the fire out in the vent, and started overhaul. No injuries were reported.
