On June 26th, 2020 around 12:30 Pueblo County Sheriff Emergency Services Bureau (ESB) Fire Team was dispatched to the 6900 block of Broadacre in southeastern Pueblo County on a smoke report. The caller reported smoke seen from over 6 miles away and it appeared to be growing. Crews responded and found a large Wildland fire that appeared to have been started by lightning. Crews from BLM, U.S. Forest Service, and Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) were also on scene working on control and containment of the fire. Air resources were used due to the remote location. A large air tanker, several single engine air tankers, and a helicopter made multiple drops on the fire to help stop it from spreading any further.
