South Metro Townhouse Fire

Just after 20:00 on July 1st, 2020 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a report of haze and smoke odor inside a home at 7044 E. Appleton Circle in Centennial. When crews arrived, there was nothing visible from the street, but smoke was found inside. After investigating a neighboring unit was found charged with smoke and a full structure fire response was dispatched. Firefighters searched the unit and found a fire on the second floor which was quickly extinguished. Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to adjoining homes and damage was confined to the second floor and attic. All searches of the building were clear, and no injuries occurred. Occupants of the fire unit were displaced, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information was provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
