During the evening of February 28th, 2020 and morning of February 29th, 2020 Grand Fire Protection District # 1 held an ice rescue training course offering first responders the opportunity to receive an Ice Rescue Specialist Certification. This training attracted members from East Grand Fire Protection District and Kremmling Fire Protection District, as well as several firefighters from Grand Fire. During the evening of the 28th was the classroom portion. The next morning firefighters were able to train on the skills they learned at the Green Ridge Boating Site on Shadow Mountain Lake.
