Greeley Grass Fire

At 15:45 on December 10th, 2020 Greeley Fire Department responded to the report of grass fire threatening structures in the area of 12th Ave. and 2nd St. in Greeley. Engine 1 arrival and pulled a attack hose line to contain the south side of the fire while the Brush 1 performed a mobile attack on the northwest end of the fire. Engine 3 arrived and deployed a hose line to the back yard of the property that was threatened, ensured there was no extension to the structures and assisted with extinguishment of the vegetation fire. Additional units on-scene assisted with mopping up the fire and incident command. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes of arrival and was held to approximately 2 acres. There was no damage to any structures and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire was unknown.
