Lakewood Ammons Street Structure Fire
West Metro Structure Fire
At 07:32 on July 28th, 2020 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire at W. 12th Ave. & Ammons St. in Lakewood. Sam 1 arrived and took command with a working fire from a multiple-family one-story residential in the offensive strategy. Lakewood Police officers evacuated three people out of the fire unit. Engine 1 arrived and pulled 1 3/4 line in and started fast attack, and Medic 1 secured the water supply to Engine 1. Engine 16 arrived and started primary search in the fire unit with Engine 2 and Tower 2. District 1 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Medic 11 as medical. SAM 1 secured the utilities, Tower 2 went to the roof with ventilation, Engine 2 pulled a 2nd line in for fire attack to the Alpha side, and Engine 3 assigned as RIT. Crews worked fire in the attic area before getting the fire under control and out. One patient was transported to a local hospital by Medic 11 with non fire-related issues. One pet was rescued and reunited with it’s owner. The fire cause is under investigation with heavy damage to one unit. Additional information proved by West Metro Fire Rescue
