West Metro Brush Fire

At 06:04 on October 5th, 2020 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire on the hogback near C-470 & Kipling St. Truck 14 arrived to a grass fire burning next to the apartment complex, and started fire attack with flames 10 feet tall moving up the hogback. Truck 14 secured the water supply, and Brush 13 and Brush 9 arrived and started fire attack. District 3 arrived on scene with the command and the fire was upgraded to a full response wildland fire with South Metro Fire Rescue and check with air support availability. Crews got the fire under control, and the additional resources were cancelled. Crews stayed on scene with mop up for an extended time. The fire burned an acre and a half in size. No structures were threatened when the fire was active and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire
