West Metro Garage Fire

At 14:11 on December 18th, 2020 West Metro Fire Rescue was alerted to a possible residential structure fire in the 2300 block of S. Carr Court in Lakewood. Engine 8 arrived to a two-story single-family with a working fire with smoke and flames showing from the garage, pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack in the offensive strategy, and secured their own water supply. Tower 8 arrived and started primary search with Rescue 10. District 2 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Engine as RIT. Medic 10 assisted Engine 8 with fire attack, and Medic 7 with medical. Crews got the fire out and started an extensive overhaul. The fire started in the garage and extended to a second story bedroom, causing significant damage. The homeowners where not there at the time, but firefighters pulled a dog from the home. The dog was not injured and has been reunited with its owners. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
