West Metro Apartment Fire

On December 30th, 2020 at 14:58 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 1400 block of S. Reed St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that 911 caller reporting fire in the apartment with heavy smoke and fire alarms activated. Engine 7 arrived on scene to a small two-story multi-family with nothing showing, and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for primary search and fire control in the offensive strategy. Tower 8 arrived and assigned as search and Engine 8 set-up at the hydrant. District 2 arrived and took over command on the Alpha side, and assigned Medic 3 to medical. Crews found a small fire which was put under control quickly, and the rest of the response was cancelled. No injures were reported.
