West Metro House Fire

Around 21:30 on April 3rd, 2020 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 7700 block of W. 13th Ave. at Yukon St. in Lakewood. Engine 1 arrived to a two-story single-family with smoke showing from all sides and a working fire, and Engine 1 pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Engine 3 arrived and established the water supply at W. 13th Ave. & Zephyr St. and Engine 16 as RIT. Tower 2 started primary search and checked for extension in the attic. Tower 8, Medic 1 and Medic 2 assisted Engine 1 with fire attack. Crews got control of the fire and started overhaul. The house was vacant, but neighbors reported that they noticed several people around the house over the past few days and right before the fire. The cause is under investigation.
