Pueblo Structure Fire

Around 17:30 on October 23rd, 2020 Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched to the area of W. 27th St. & Cheyenne Ave. on a reported residential structure fire. Units were informed while enroute that several neighbors were reporting smoke and flames from a possibly abandoned residence. Engine 35 arrived on scene and sized up a small single story single family residence with smoke pushing from the eaves. They were informed that the house was not abandoned and that there were also pets possibly on scene as well. After completing a 360 crews were informed that the family had just moved from the residence however the dogs were still in the backyard. Engine 35 pulled a cross lay for fire attack and stretched it to the front door. Engine 32 arrived on scene and caught the plug on the corner with a 3 inch line. Truck 51 helped crews access the home and set up a fan for PPV. Squad 81 used their TIC to complete a primary search and no one was located. Command requested animal control to take care of the dogs in the back yard. Crews were on scene for about an hour controlling the small Fire and ventilating the house.
