Around 03:00 on December 12th, 2020 Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Bureau (ESB) Fire was dispatched to mile marker 82 on I-25 northbound on a commercial vehicle fire. While enroute Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center updated crews with information that a semi tractor and trailer were northbound with flames from the rear axel. The vehicle finally came to a stop at mile marker 82. Tender 191 was first on scene and sized up a 53 foot empty box trailer detached from the tractor that was fully involved. Tender 191 took command and stretched a bumper line for fire attack. The crew then set up a fill line off the back of the truck to connect to the next in tender. Shortly after they had arrived Tender 192 arrived on scene and began to supply Tender 191 with water. Engine 131 also arrived on scene and set up scene lighting and their crew began using tools to make better access to hot spots on the trailer. One lane of the highway was shut down while crews contained the fire. Fire crews were on scene for almost 3 hours. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
