Westminster Barn Fire

Around 17:00 on August 24th, 2020 Westminster Fire Department with auto-aid from North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a possible barn on fire with a field fire in the area of W. 144th Ave. & Huron St. Engine 6 arrived to a small barn fully involved and a field fire spreading, established their own water supply from W. 141st Ave. & Huron St. and started fire attack in defensive mode. Medic 4 pulled a line off Engine 6 for fire attack, and Engine 64 arrived and assisted with fire control in the field. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Truck 2 with aerial operations, and SAM 1 as safety. Command reassigned Medic 4 as medical and Engine 1 took over the hand line. Crews got the fire quickly put under controlled at 17:14, and started an extended overhaul on hot spots. The fire cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
