Aurora 2nd Alarm

At 18:56 on January 4th, 2021 Aurora Fire Rescue was alerted to a working apartment fire at Abrigo Apartment, 12170 E. 30th Ave. Engine 3 arrived to a three-story apartment building with fire on the second floor Delta side, and stretched an apartment lay for fire attack on the second floor through the first-floor main doors on E. 30th Ave. The water supply was established on the Bravo side across from Engine 3 at the corner of E. 30th Ave. and Quari St. and also assisted in evacuation of apartments surrounding the fire room. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and took command on the Alpha side parking lot. Crews reported finding a single apartment involved with heavy smoke in the back room and water on the fire at time stamped at 19:04 with the primary search being executed. Battalion 2 arrived and assumed safety officer while Ladder 2 checked for extension into the attic which proved negative. At 19:07 Ladder 2 called fire under control and Engine 12 was assigned secondary search of the fire unit. Command assigned Ladder 2 as interior division with Engine 3, Engine 1, and Engine 5 working for LD2 officer. Engine 8 was assigned as RIC with Ladder 6 assisting. No reported of injuries and the fire is under investigation.
