Aurora House Fire

At 03:57 on February 4th, 2021 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 15900 block of E. Bates Place in the Meadowood neighborhood. Crews arrived and found smoke showing within the home and as they investigated, firefighters found the smoke thickened on the upper level, and it was reported as a roof fire. Ladder 5 went to vent the roof, once completed flames began to come from the vent hole and crews exited the roof. Once the fire was called under control, arson went in to investigate and found additional hot spots, so crews went back in. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
