Aurora  Attic Fire

On March 23, 2021 at approximately 16:15 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at 13445 E. Fitzsimons Way. Units arrived on scene and found light smoke in the residence.  Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire in the attic. While pulling the ceiling firefighters were covered in old insulation that need to be decontaminated from their turnout gear and equipment. Crews were on scene about two hours mopping up hot spots, clearing the home of the insulation and decontaminating.
