Denver Working Structure Fire

On September 23rd, 2026 around 00:20 Denver Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire in the area of W. 4th Ave. & Sheridan Blvd. Engine 20 arrived on scene with a working fire from a detached garage and shed and pulled a line for fast attack while crews conducted searches and forced entry into the structures. Truck 12 performed vertical ventilation on the roof of the main house as Engine 20 and Engine 12 worked to extinguish a significant amount of fire. Crews worked heavy fire involvement in the attic space and Xcel was requested with a downed power line on the Charlie-Delta corner of the main fire structure. All primary searches were negative and after bringing the fire under control, crews remained on scene for extensive overhaul to locate and extinguish hidden fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. At the same time, West Metro Fire Rescue was also responding to a possible structure in the same area, but was cancelled before arriving on scene due to the fire on the Denver side.
