Aurora 2nd Alarm Fire

On May 9th, 2021 at 17:303 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a multi-family dwelling fire in the 400 block of S. Kalispell Way. While en-route Aurora 911 Emergency Communications advised there were 22 animals inside, and Aurora Police officers on scene with black smoke showing and all occupants evacuated. Engine 4 arrived on scene to find a two-story multi-family dwelling with heavy smoke showing from the roof and 2nd floor window. Engine 4 started fire attack, pulled an attack line and secured their own water supply. Battalion Chief 2 requested a second alarm. Ladder 6 split their crews and started primary search and to the roof. Engine 4 worked heavy fire conditions with a shared attic, and Engine 7 pulled a second line to assist Engine 4 on the second floor. Crews stayed on scene to conduct overhaul. 3 residents were displaced from the fire, no injuries were reported. The fire cause is under investigation.
