At 01:33 on February 15th, 2021 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a report of smoke inside the home at 7780 S. Kit Carson Dr. in Centennial. The family safely evacuated without injuries. First arriving Engine 15 reported smoke showing from the eaves and declared a working fire, prompting the dispatch of additional units. Firefighters advanced a hose line for fire control, searched the interior of the home and cut away the garage door to access the flames, which were quickly extinguished. Crews were successful at preventing the fire from spreading into the living space inside the home and incident was placed under control by 02:00. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused the fire. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
