South Adams Commercial Fire

At 02:11 on July 4th, 2021 Adcom dispatched South Adams County Fire Department with Adams County Fire Rescue to a commercial fire at Colorado Asphalt Services, 3700 block of E. 56th Ave. in Commerce City. Ambulance 204 arrived to heavy flames and smoke showing. Engine 22 arrived to a large asphalt plant on fire, with defensive strategy and established their own water supply, and Engine 13 assisted with fire attack and a second water supply. Battalion 21 arrived and took command with a defensive working fire, and Truck 24 set-up for master stream ops. Crews were challenged with cooling the tanks while working on shutting down values to isolate the gas. Firefighters got the fire out within an hour and started an extended overhaul.
