The Great Plains Field of Honor was held at Pearson Park in Fort Lupton from November 10th, 2021 through November 13th, 2021. One thousand United States flags were posted along the South Platte River to honor past and present first responders and military veterans. A formal ceremony was held on November 13th, 2021 that included a tribute to fallen Yuma Volunteer Fire Department firefighter Darcy Stallings and fallen Joes Volunteer Fire Department firefighter Larry Wyant.

The general public was invited to sponsor and dedicate individual flags. Proceeds from the flags benefit Badge2Badge and Foundation 1023, organizations that focus on the mental health and wellness of Colorado’s first responders.

The Fort Lupton Fire Protection District, Fort Lupton Police Department, Firestone Police Department and Banner Health North Colorado Medical Center Paramedic Services participated in the event.
