West Metro Structure Fire

At 19:04 on July 28th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of Kendall Court in Lakewood. JeffCom advised that multiple callers with a back deck on fire extending to home, and heavy smoke showing in the air from the dispatch center. Engine 3 arrived to a single-family structure with a working fire from the Charlie side, pulled a 2 1/2 for exterior fire attack with Medic 3, and Engine 1 secured the water supply to Engine 3. Engine 7 pulled a 1 3/4 off Engine 3 to the Alpha side for primary search and fire attack inside the home with Medic 1. District 2 arrived and assumed command on the Bravo-Charlie side, and assigned Engine 6 as RIT, and requested additional medic to the scene. Crews reported smoke from the eaves and extending into the attic space, and Tower 8 assigned to the attic. The fire was put under control at 19:27 with crews working an extended overhaul with hot spots. Crews rescued three family cats and no injuries were reported.
