West Metro Garage Fire

On February 3rd, 2021 at 05:12 West Metro Fire Rescue was alerted to a possible garage fire in the 1100 block of S. Eaton St. in Lakewood. Engine 7 arrived on scene to a working fire in a ranch-style home, with fire in the attic and pulled 1 3/4 to the front door. Engine 3 arrived and assisted Engine 7 with the water supply. Engine 7 advised that all occupants were out of the structure. Engine 8 pulled a 2nd line to the Charlie side and Tower 8 started the primary search. Medic 2 assigned as medical, and Engine 1 as RIT. Rescue 10 started vertical vent above the garage. Crews got the fire under control and started overhaul. Investigators reported that the fire started in the garage, where there was a grow operation, and spread into the kitchen on the other side of the wall. The fire caused heavy damage to the garage and smoke damage throughout the home. The cause was electrical. There were no injuries. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
