West Metro Garage Fire

At 21:07 on June 11th, 2021 Jeffcom dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a structure fire in the 1700 block of S. Upham St. in Lakewood. Engine 7 arrived on scene to a small single-story single-family with a detached garage fully involved on the Charlie side with defensive fire conditions, and went to defensive on the garage and offensive on the house, and pulled 2 1/2 for fire attack with Medic 7. Engine 8 arrived and assisted Engine 7 with the water supply. District 2 arrived and assumed command, assigned Engine 3 to pulled 1 3/4 from Engine 7 to the garage, and SAM 2 as safety. Tower 8 started primary search in the house with Engine 8. Crews found fire extending into the home and attic space. Rescue 10 arrived and assigned to pulled their own line in on the back side of the structure, Engine 1 as RIT and Medic 2 as medical group. Command requested Xcel to the scene for a line down behind the garage. Crews got the fire under control and started overhaul. No injuries were reported and the fire cause is under investigation.
