West Metro House Fire

At 06:39 on October 20th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 1800 block of S. Yank Place in Green Mountain. JeffCom advised that 911 caller reporting flames and smoke visible with one burn injury and all parties out of the structure. Engine 9 advised of a header from Bear Creek Blvd. and Morrison Rd. District 2 arrived to a small two-story single-family structure with a working fire and heavy fire from the Charlie side. District 2 set-up command on the Alpha-Delta corner in the offensive strategy, and requested an additional medic to the scene. Engine 4 arrived and pulled a 2 1/2 to the Charlie side for offensive exterior attack with Medic 4, and Engine 8 assisted with the water supply to Engine 4. Engine 9 arrived and assigned to pull an 1 3/4 off Engine 4 to the Alpha side and started the primary search, Engine 3 assigned as RIT, and Medic 10 as medical. The fire was put under control at 07:09 and crews worked an extensive overhaul on hot spots. Investigators determined the the cause of the fire was by smoking materials and started in the living room. One of the two residents inside at the time was transported by Medic 10 to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
