West Metro Commercial Fire

At 18:13 on July 18th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 1 was dispatched to a possible fire at 1960 Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that Lakewood Police officers on scene reporting smoke but no flames. Engine 1 arrived on scene to a large A-frame single-story structure with fire from the eves, pulled a 1 3/4 line to the Alpha side for fast attack and search, and requested a full response for a working fire. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Delta corner, and assigned Medic 11 to pull a 2nd line off Engine 1 for fire control. Engine 16 arrived and secured the water supply to Engine 1, and Tower 2 with ventilation. Medic 11 assigned as medical and Engine 3 as RIT. Crews got the fire under control quickly and started overhaul. The cause is under investigation by LPD and no injuries were reported.
