West Metro Commercial Fire

At 10:27 on November 13th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a commercial structure fire at 6111 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. SAM 1 arrived to small one-story commercial building with smoke showing from the roof line. Engine 1 arrived and established the water supply and pulled a line in, Medic 1 started primary search, and Engine 3 laddered the Alpha side roof. Engine 16 assigned with primary search with the next door business, and Engine 3 found an electric fire on the roof in the attic space. District 2 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy, assigned Tower 8 as RIT and reassigned Medic 1 medical. Truck 54 assisted Engine 3, Medic 11 and SAM 1 on the roof. Crews got the fire under control quickly and started overhaul and the investigation. No injuries and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
