Pueblo County I-25 Brush Fire

On October 22nd, 2021 around 13:00 Pueblo County Sheriff Emergency Services Bureau (ESB) Fire Team was dispatched to I-25 northbound near mile marker 112 on a reported brush fire. Multiple fires were being reported by 9-1-1 callers. As units began to arrive in the area the decision was made to call for a type 6 strike team from the eastern portion of the county. The number of fires was unknown and it was unknown how far they had spread. The fire desk was also staffed at the EOC. Crews located 4 separate fires and one was able to cross the frontage road but was quickly contained. Crews were on scene for around an hour mopping up and preventing further spread.
