The Larimer County Department of Natural Resources held their 2021 Ranger Excellence School at the La Quinta Inn in Loveland from May 17th, 2021 through May 21st, 2021. Training modules included field training, water survival, first aid, incident command, crisis intervention, self defense, defensive driving, swift water rescue and pepper spray certification. Rangers have a wide array of responsibilities including medical care, law enforcement, resource protection, search and rescue, wildland firefighting and community education. Rangers from Aspen, Boulder County, Carson City (Nevada), Colorado Springs, Highlands Ranch, Jefferson County Open Space Park Ranger, Larimer County Park Ranger, Longmont, Louisville, Pitkin County and Snow Mass Village participated in the training.
