South Metro Animal Rescue

On June 13th, 2021 at approximately 08:30 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to an animal rescue at Camelot Liquors, 18525 E. Smoky Hill Road. Firefighters arrived on scene and found that seven baby ducks had fallen into a storm drain. The crew from Engine 23 was able to remove the grate, access the drain with an attic ladder and reunite the wayward ducklings with their anxious mother. The family waddled off quacking happily and at last site was doing well.
