South Metro Vegetation Fire

On June 12th, 2021 at approximately 13:40 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire behind 15015 Pepper Pike Place. Radio traffic indicated that the fire may have started from a blown transformer and that neighbors were attempting to douse the fire with water buckets. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a small fire in the open space behind the housing area. After ensuring the overhead power lines were not a hazard, crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Firefighters remained on scene about thirty minutes checking for hot spots. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
