West Metro Electrical Fire

At 17:23 on April 19th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 6 responded to a reported electrical hazard and fire alarm at 1617 Cole Blvd. in the Denver West Office Park. Engine 6 arrived to a three-story large office building with nothing showing, and started the investigation. Engine 6 found two transformers smoking on the outside of the building, and requested additional engine emergent and Xcel to the scene. Crews found smoke in the electrical room inside the first floor and requested a full response. Engine 5 arrived and secured the water supply to Engine 6, and crews pulled a 1 3/4 line to the electrical room on the first floor. Tower 2 arrived and assigned to the upper floors to check for smoke and or heat conditions. District 1 arrived and took command on the Alpha side. Xcel arrived and crews got the electrical issue quickly controlled and the rest of the response went into service. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
