Wheat Ridge Apartment Fire

At 16:13 on October 4th, 2021 Arvada Fire Protection District with auto-aid from West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 4600 block of Kipling St. in Wheat Ridge. Engine 2 arrived to a large three-story garden level multi-family apartment building with a working fire showing from the 3rd floor, established their own water supply and started fire attack. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side, and assigned Rescue 52 to assist with fire attack. Engine 51 pulled 1 3/4 line off Engine 2, Tower 2 set-up on the Charlie side, and Medic 1 assigned as medical. Crews got the fire under control at 16:38 and started overhaul. One individual received medical evaluation as a precaution. The fire is under investigation for the cause and origin of the fire. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District.
