Windsor Severance Fire Rescue held the official ground breaking ceremony for the new Station 4 on June 12th, 2021. The new Station 4 will be located at New Liberty Rd. and Hilltop Dr. with 4 bay doors in order to house 8+ apparatus. This station will house a new engine when it is opened and will be home to 9-12 firefighters. This station will have a basement gym for firefighters keep up their physical fitness and state of the art technology. Firefighters with staff, board members, local officials, neighboring fire departments, construction crews, and the future generation of firefighters all joined in on this monumental occasion. The station will help service the fire district as growth continues in the 100 square mile district by reducing response times into the southern area of the district as well as provide another engine crew to respond to emergencies throughout the region. The anticipated completion date is May of 2022 and the station is funded in part by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs with a $250,000 Grant. The department chose Elder Construction to build their station who is coincidentally local, putting money back into the community. Additional information provided by Windsor Severance Fire Rescue.
