Sable Altura Garage Fire

On June 21st, 2022 at 05:56 Sable Altura Fire Rescue responded with the I-70 corridor fire departments to a reported garage fire at 199S. De Gaulle St. in unincorporated Arapahoe County. Medic 41 arrived to flames showing from the Alpha side with all occupants out of the structure. Chief 41 arrived and assumed command with a 3-car garage with extensive fuel loading and fully involved. Engine 92 assigned to pull a line to the Alpha side and force entry into the garage. Engine 41 arrived and pull a 2nd line in for fire attack and Tender 92 dropped a static water pond, and a tender shuttle was successfully established with a steady, and consistent flow of water to a non-hydrant area. A decision was made to defend the residential side of the structure as winds started to pick up. The family got out safely with their dog, while firefighters rescued three cats and two geckos.
