Arvada Apartment Fire

At 15:42 on November 24th, 2022 Arvada Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a working structure fire in an apartment complex in the 5300 block of Everett St. Engine 51 arrived with Medic 51 to a three-story garden level multifamily structure with a working fire from the first floor, started fire attack with 1 3/4 line and started search in the offensive strategy. Rescue 52 arrived and secured a water supply to Engine 51. District 1 arrived to one victim on the Charlie side, and requested medical. Battalion 52 arrived and assumed command, assigned Engine 17 with the primary search on the 3rd floor and Rescue 52 started search on the 1st floor. Crews were able to get the fire out quickly. One person was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, and unfortunately 3 animals perished in the fire. Due to the amount of smoke that filled the building, the building was deemed unsafe by the building department. Displaced residents were assisted by Victims Outreach Inc. and the American Red Cross.
